Antioxidants in rose hip tea

In temperate zones, rose hips make a vibrant red color in the otherwise drab winter landscape. Rose hip tea is a good source of antioxidants in the form of vitamins C, A, D and B complex, as well as bioflavonoids.

The bioflavonoids allow human bodies to more readily absorb the vitamin C. Bioflavonoids in tea appear to be more effective antioxidants than vitamin C, vitamin E and beta carotene. Vitamin C maintains kidney and liver health and important for blood vessel health.
Antioxidants are substances that deactivate free radicals before they can cause damage.

Rose hips contain antioxidants and act as an antidepressant. Rose hips help scavenge free radicals; it is a tension tamer, which soothes the nerves; and helps regulate the circulation.
