Ajwain drinks
Trachyspermum copticum, commonly known as ajwain, ajowan caraway, carom seeds. Ajwain seed are tiny, it looks like miniature cumin seeds and has similar aroma, yet very strongly flavored.
Although primarily grown and used in the Indian subcontinent, is also found in Iran, Egypt and Afghanistan.
Ajwain seed are used to help cure and prevent sinus related problems. Normally ajwain seed to be boiled in water and the water are use for tea. The dose for ajwain tea is half a teaspoon in half a liter of water. Honey can be added to the water and drink it while inhaling as much as of the steam as possible.
Ajwain is highly value in India as gastrointestinal medicine and as an antiseptic. Other than drink as a tea, ajwain is combined with salt and hot water and take after meals to relieve bowel pain or colic, and to improve digestion.
Ajwain excels in relieving gas and many people said that a tea made from ajwain seeds is among the best carminative remedies.
